Marla Gibbs – The Jeffersons

Marla Gibbs is an American actress who got her big break in 1975 when she was hired for a small part as a housekeeper named Florence in the CBS series “The Jeffersons” at the age of 44. For her work on the program, she received four prime-time Emmy nominations.

She then went on to appear in and produce “227,” a famous sitcom that aired from 1985 to 1990 and made Jackée Harry and Regina King famous. Gibbs is still acting and has made a handful of film and television appearances. Since 2021, she’s also been a familiar face on “The Days of our Lives.”
